Sweet Fragrances….

christmas-candles-907666There are some fragrances in life that I love….when I smell them, they trigger special memories and bring a smile to my face….they help me to relax…the smells remind me of good things and make me feel thankful.  For example…baby lotion reminds me of every one of the precious babies God has blessed me with…freshly laundered sheets reminds me of spending time with my mom when I was little…clean, shampooed hair reminds me of snuggling with my little ones before bed…and sugar cookies and cinnamon roll smells remind me of my family being together during the holidays.  I treasure those fragrances and memories.  I am sure you have certain smells that trigger happy memories just like I do.  Did you know that God has a certain fragrance that He treasures as well…..

Revelations 5:8…Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

Our prayers are as incense to God…our prayers are a fragrance that God loves.  He treasures the fragrance of our prayers so much that He has placed them in “golden bowls”.  Why?  What is so special about the requests and praises that we send towards Heaven that God would have them put in “golden bowls”?  Our prayers tell God that we believe in Him….our prayers tell God that we trust Him…our prayers tell God that we have Faith in Him…our prayers tell God that we want to spend time with Him and they bring a smile to the Face of God!!

So the next time you smell that special fragrance, remember God and send a prayer His way….I guarantee that as you pray and bring a smile to His face, you too will get a smile on your face!

If you do not know Jesus as your Savior and would like to have a relationship with Him so that you too can put a smile on the Face of God…go here…and say a Prayer of salvation.  If you would like to experience how God can change your life, then come and visit us at one of our services.
