“The Storms of Life”…we have all used that term at one time or another to describe the difficult times in life.  I don’t know about you, but that description elicits pictures of dark, looming clouds to me.  Did you know that the Bible says that clouds are the dust of God’s feet?

Nahum 1:3…And the clouds are the dust of His feet.

It seems weird that the “clouds” that are our sorrows and sufferings…the “clouds” that appear as a wall between God and ourselves…that those “clouds” are the dust of God’s feet as he walks through our lives.

Think about all the Storms you have walked through in life…there have been a few in my life that I didn’t think I would survive. :) But I made it through those Storms…and not in spite of the “clouds”…but BECAUSE of the “clouds”.

“The clouds are the dust of His feet” (Nahum 1:3). They are a sign that God is there.  In the Old Testament God was always in the clouds.

Without the “clouds” would we have reason to Praise Him?  Without the “clouds” would we grow stronger in our Faith and in our relationship with God?

It is BECAUSE of the “clouds” in my life that I am learning to walk by Faith.  Sometimes I wonder…without those “clouds” would I have Faith?

Have you ever flown in a plane when the sky is full of clouds?  I have strained my eyes trying to look through those clouds to see the ground below.  I believe that that is the very thing God is trying to get us to do by kicking up “the dust of His feet” as He walks through our lives.  God’s desire is relationship with us…He wants us straining our eyes to try to catch a glimpse of Him.

In Luke 9:34, the disciples “. . . were fearful as they entered the cloud”…but when the cloud cleared only Jesus remained with them.  Jesus is in your “cloud”…strain your eyes and look for Him…He is most assuredly there.

If you have never entered into a relationship with God you can go here to say a Sinner’s Prayer…or here to speak with someone from our church.
